This awaits you Satan!

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 29, 2012, 7:56 PM
Isaiah 14:9-17
New Living Translation (NLT)

9 "In the place of the dead[a] there is excitement
      over your arrival.
The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead
      stand up to see you.
10 With one voice they all cry out,
'Now you are as weak as we are!
11 Your might and power were buried with you.[b]
The sound of the harp in your palace has ceased.
   Now maggots are your sheet,
      and worms your blanket.'

12 "How you are fallen from heaven,
O shining star, son of the morning!
You have been thrown down to the earth,
you who destroyed the nations of the world.
13 For you said to yourself,
'I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods
      far away in the north.[c]
14 I will climb to the highest heavens
and be like the Most High.'
15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead,
      down to its lowest depths.
16 Everyone there will stare at you and ask,
'Can this be the one who shook the earth
and made the kingdoms of the world tremble?
17 Is this the one who destroyed the world
and made it into a wasteland?
Is this the king who demolished the world's greatest cities
and had no mercy on his prisoners?'

a. Isaiah 14:9 Hebrew Sheol; also in 14:15.
b. Isaiah 14:11 Hebrew were brought down to Sheol.
c. Isaiah 14:13 Or on the heights of Zaphon.

I love how God's word works on multiple levels: I think I remember this can be about the King of Babylon & Satan at the same time :D Just like I love that Jesus came to heal the blind and the sick both literally & figuratively

God did like to speak in parables, and we know the bible says he Does not change. So does this mean this too takes understanding to "hear what the Spirit is saying"?

I think so, God gives the understanding if we seek it, as both Joseph & Daniel said- they did not have wisdom & understanding of their own right, but asked God to help them interpret dreams, etc. God is not a simple, 2-dimentional God that we can fit into our understanding, so His word has unfathomable depths & applications & we can always seek Him to help us understanding or else we will have "ears but do not hear, eyes, but do not see" :)

There is also mention on Revelation, how God will throw satan in the lake of fire.

Cant wait for satan to be thrown forever in the lake, where ppl will make his eternity what he deserves... a living hell

Revelation 20:10
New Living Translation (NLT)
10 Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Very true.
